Barcelona Shopping…

Well I have managed to have a little vacation to Barcelona to relax and unwind. Which was needed after the stresses of working over the holiday season. So naturally I had to visit a Sephora seen as the UK still do not have one (Sad Face). I must say I was not disappointed when I finally found one close to La Rambla which is a big shopping street in Barcelona. I’m pretty sure that it was the biggest Sephora I have ever visited and that is saying something as I have shopped Sephora is France, Monaco, USA and UAE. I was very spoilt for choice so I couldn’t help myself to add to my collection.

First on my purchase list was the Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Multi-Finish eyeshadow palette in Edgitorial. I have been eyeing up these palettes for a while and since I’m on holiday why not treat myself.

So first thing to mention about these palettes is that the colours are super pigmented so you really are going to get a burst of colour. In the palette you get 7 colours with a mixture of finishes: Buttery Matte Velvet, Shimmering Satin, Sparkling Silk and Metallic Lamé. The colour that really stood out was the gold so I am really excited to try a look. Maybe an Egyptian look with a bold cat eye liner.

Following on from the eyeshadows I have been looking for a different colour eyeliner than the standard black that I always land up using. So this purple colour by Marc Jacobs is the perfect change. It is still a dark colour so is pigmented enough to be bold but also is a clear difference than black. Sometimes (mainly days that I’m out the house by 5.45am) I don’t tend to use much products on my eyes because I rather stay in bed (no judgement). So a simple eyeliner and mascara is all I do. So changing up the colour is an easy way to change up a look without the added effort.

The last thing on the haul that was new is the Farsali Rose Gold Elixir which has been super hyped on social media. So I was super excited to try especially as had 30% off with my Sephora card! (Super Bargain). There are so many ways that you can use this product but the way I have used it so far is like a base for my foundation. It gives your skin that glowing look. I’ve tried it with the Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation and it has worked beautifully. I also tried it with the Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation which also worked just as a good as a base. Another way to use it is on your lips which will keep your lips hydrated even when using matte lipsticks. Just need a few drops applied to the lips and you just need to wait for it to absorb before applying your lipstick.

Product Review: Susanne Kaufmann Body Oil

I am really loving Susanne Kaufmann products but I have just recently found the body oil and my mind is blown. With sensitive skin is really difficult to find products that work but the natural ingredients really work a treat.

The body oil is made from marigold oil, rosehip seed oil and jojoba oil which is great for moisturising the driest of skins. The best way of using this product is to apply to damp skin so just out of the bath or shower as it is the best way for the oil to be absorbed into the skin. When placed on wet skin the oil changes into an emulsion texture.

This works well with the Susanne Kaufmann with the Herbal Whey Bath Nourishing bath soak which is available in Space NK

Favourite Red Lipstick

Really can’t go wrong with a good Red Lipstick. So I have tried a lot of them and I have fallen in love with the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. So this shade is Dragon Girl which is one of the most popular shades in the Velvet Matte range. It is a multipurpose tool so you can use it to first line your lips before you use it to fill in. Its also contains vitamin E so it is a hydrating matte lipstick. At £21 it is a really great price point as you have a very pigmented, long lasting lipstick. You can purchase this at Nars Online

Charlotte Tilbury Shopping…

So I love spending time really looking at brands and discovering what there hero products are. So this time round my brand of choice is Charlotte Tilbury. Charlotte Tilbury is a long standing icon in the beauty world with many celebrities flocking to her for there red carpet looks, bridal beauty and everyday glam.

Its so great that her products are so versatile and easy to use. It makes creating looks incredible easy even for the novice. So I visited the store in Covent Garden and it is so beautiful. You feel like you are in a Hollywood stars dressing room in the 1920’s. Everything is gold and glamorous. So you feel like a star before you put anything on. So Charlotte Tilbury really does cater from Skincare to Makeup.

So the first thing that I tried is the Feline Flick Quick Fine Line Shodō Eyeliner pen. I am a person who wants to create a perfect cat eye look but finds it difficult with the traditional liquid eyeliner. It is so easy to use and glides on so smooth that you  produce a straight line every time. The fine tip brush allows you create the perfect flick. The website claims it will last up to 14 hours but after trying it i would say it lasts about 6-7 hours before it starts to fade so you would need to re-apply during the day.

The next thing I tried was the Filmstar Bronze and Glow palette. I’ve purchased it in Medium to Dark however there is a Light to Medium shade. This palette contains a face sculpt and highlight in a gorgeous gold component. The reason I like this is because it gives you that sun kissed glow just like you’ve come back from holidays. Again this product is simple to use and is perfect if you want to travel. I have also used this with Guerlain finishing powder and it worked a treat and was long lasting.

My last thing from my Charlotte Tilbury shop is the Colour Chameleon eye pencil. I have purchased the shaded Dark Pearl which is recommended for people with brown eyes. This is actually my hero product! It makes a great base colour to build on. Extremely easy to apply and quite frankly a time saver when applying eyeshadow. I think if you are in a rush or you are travelling and don’t want to carry brushes as well as shadows then this is the product for you. You can also go from day to night by adding a spot of glitter on top of it.

I really do love Charlotte Tilbury products. From the contents to the packaging it really does invoke the feeling of being a Hollywood star. I really want to try out some of her skincare as they are highly recommended. One of the star products is the Instant Magic Dry Sheet Mask. Which is next on my shopping list.

Armani Luminous Silk – The Review

I must admit this is not a new product but I have spent a good few month trying it to really form and opinion on it. There has been a lot of buzz about this product and all the top celebrities are using it. So what do I think about it? I love it… It is one of those foundations that feels so lightweight on the skin that it almost feels like you are not wearing anything. The foundation is £40 Armani Beauty and if you subscribe to the newsletter you get 10% off your first order (always trying to save you money!!!). The foundation currently comes in 24 different shades.

The shade I have is 7.5 Medium, Peach, Caramel. With this product I feel the coverage is Medium however the formula would allow you to add an extra layer for extra coverage. I would use a brush over a beauty blender to apply this foundation as I found using a sponge it absorbed so much of the foundation. I have also tried 2 different primers with it (Veil Hourglass and L’Or Guerlain) to see how it works and if there is any oxidisation. The use of both primers didn’t cause any colour change and actually the Hourglass Veil Primer worked really well with it as the formula is very lightweight and silky just like the foundation.

I really do think that the Luminous Silk is a great addition to your makeup bag if you like products are lightweight and something that will give you medium coverage. I can see myself really using this product in the warmer months when you don’t want to wear so much.

Artis Brush Review

So for the past few years I have been eyeing up the Artis Brush and I have been dreaming of the day that I can add them to my collection. Well the day has come! I have finally took the plunge and bought the Five Brush Set.

Yes I do know they are a luxury product but there are currently promotions running on Harrods So originally you would pay £171 for the set of 5 but for limited time only they are £136.75 (Average of £27.35 per brush).

So out of the whole collection my favourite brush by far is the Oval 6 brush. This is the perfect brush for applying foundation and it makes the process so quick and easy. It is also a really great multi use product due to its size. You can also use it for contouring, highlighting and applying setting powder to name a few. If there is only 1 brush your are going to invest from Artis then this is the one.

I must stress that this is a high end luxury product but if you are serious about makeup and looking for the very best products then this is it. Purchasing the set works out at better value than buying them individually so keep an eye out for the promotions so you can maximise your savings.

Happy New Year….

I know a few days late but I just wanted to wish all my readers a Happy New Year… So what is up next for Style Hunters UK. Well I am trying out some brand new goodies that I have received for Christmas and bought in the sales so I am working on a couple of new blog post as we speak! So watch this space!!!!

Dear Santa… I’ve been a very good girl!

I still can’t believe that it is already December, where has the year gone. So I’ve already started my Christmas wish list of all the beauty products that I want in my stocking this year. (Please Santa I’ve been super good…)

First on my list is one of my favourite products for the winter to help with your dry hand when the icy weather sets in. It is the Little Indulgences Hand and Body Creme collection from Laura Mercier. (£25 from Space NK) It is such a great deal for £25 you get 4 travel sizes cremes each 30ml in Almond Coconut Milk, Ambre Vanille, Creme Brûlée and Tarte au Citron. So not only will your hands stay hydrated but the will smell delicious too.

Next on my Christmas wish list is the Rodial Dragon’s Blood Collection. This is one of my favourite skincare brands at the moment and if you have never tried it then I suggest you head down to your nearest Space NK immediately. This brand is truly revolutionary it has truly made a difference to my skin. I currently use the Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water and I am in love. So this set is a perfect introduction to the brand. Yes I know it’s a bit pricey at £110 but it is totally worth the money. In the set you get the sculpting gel (50ml) which is perfect for plumping sagging skin by stimulating the productions of collagen. Hyaluronic Mask (50ml) which is a perfect for providing long lasting moisture to dehydrated skin and Eye Gel (15ml) which is super hydrating for puffy, tired looking eyes.

Another must on any beauty lovers wish list is the Becca Rose Gold on the Go Kit at £20 this is a beauty steal. Perfect for travelling or on the go to pop into your makeup bag. So in this set you get a Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Spotlight Wand and Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Mini in the beautiful rose gold shade. You can pick and choose whether you want to wear it individually for a natural look or together to bring the glow to life.

Brand Spotlight: Rodial

So I got the opportunity to attend the Harvey Nichols x Rodial Glow Day and I am so glad that I did. It was such an amazing event that I got a chance to sit down and just have someone pamper me. So with a glass of bubbly in hand I take a seat and the lovely Gemma starts to access my skin and pick some products for me to try. This year I have really started to look after my skin more so I was interested to look at the skincare more so but as I had the time we went through skincare and makeup and I have to say I am in love with everything I tried out.

So if you keep up to date on instagram you would have seen a few weeks ago Kim Kardashian West using the Dragon Blood lip mask from Rodial and literally now everyone is talking Rodial. But if you take a moment to look into their range of products are phenomenal. This brand is luxury and you are getting products that use unique and innovative ingredients to tackle a wide range of skin concerns.

That being said I mainly suffer with dry skin with a few areas that are oily. So we start off with products from the Dragon’s Blood Collection. First to take off a days worth of make up we use a the Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water. This is really a step up from a normal micellar water as well as it being gentle and hydrating for the skin. The water also contains vitamin B3 which will illuminate and even skin tone.

Now with my dry skin we then dipped into the Bee Venom collection with the cleansing balm. Now this is a real game changer for me. I have never combined to cleansing products before until I came to Rodial and now I am questioning what I have been doing all this time. This balm is especially good for those with a drier skin type. All you need is two pumps of the balm and massage into your dry skin. When you splash your face with warm water the product turns into a milky cleanser and then you can wash off with a muslim cloth and warm water. After just these 2 steps my skin looks and feels instantly hydrated.

I have never seen my skin looking so hydrated and bright so at this point I am excited to try the next product. I tell you that I am not disappointed. This serum is packed full on ingredients designed to help maintain hydration in your skin so your skin is smooth and plumped. Just to name a few of the key ingredients you have: Dragon’s Blood, Hyaluronic Acid, Wheat Proteins, Tetrapeptide-6 but to name a few. Key thing to note when applying the serum is to allow about 30 seconds before moving on to your next skincare step.

Now at this point I am already thinking it doesn’t get any better but then I am introduced to this eye gel and at this point I was ready to hand my credit card over. My under eye have slowly started to become a problem for me with dark circles forming under eye. My  daily routine sees me up some days at 4.30am and not going to sleep till late. So this was a product that I was in desperate need. A little product goes a long way so you are getting great value for your money. The way the product is designed you get no wastage as you literally push down on the top and product dispenses. All you need is to pop it on your ring finger and tap underage from the inner corner of your eye all the way out to your temple. Feels truly amazing.

So after all this skincare I decided to choose my top 3 products that I liked from the evening to come home with me and started using them in my skincare routing right away. Ive noticed a huge difference in my skin and I feel as a result my makeup looks a lot better because it has a well hydrated canvas to work on. I am making my next appointment soon so I can try some more of the makeup products and I can write about them as this trip I was solely concentrating on the skincare but I did get my makeup done with Rodial products and I was pleasantly surprised at the results (See Below).

And yes that is me with the founder of Rodial – Maria Hatzistefanis.

Huda Beauty…. Winter Solstice

Huda Beauty has really stepped up there game this year with so many product launches. All of which have been a massive hit in my books. Can she do no wrong? So I took a day trip to Paris so and opportunity to visit the Sephora on Champs-Élysées so what better opportunity to go and see the new Huda Beauty collection.

Well I was a little too late to sample everything as the make up artist told me everything has flown off the shelves so I’m going to have to order online the lip strobes which I am slowly falling in love with every instagram post I see. But not all is lost I managed to find the Winter Solstice Highlighter Palette and I literally fell in love.

So first lets discuss this packaging. Every single new product she brings out there is no detail spared and this palette is no exceptions even down to the inner slip. But beyond the packaging lets talk about the product inside. So for £40 at Cult Beauty you get 28.5g of product which is split between 4 highlight colours.  3 x 7.5 g Powder Highlighters Arctic Glow (warm blue multi-tonal illuminator), Northern Lights (holographic highlighter with duo-chrome tones in soft gold and bronze), Winter Rose (dusky pink infused with a shot of silver) and 1 x 6 g Poured Melted Strobe in Frosted Kiss (icy iridescent pink).

There are so many ways you can use this product you can sweep the highlighters over your cheekbones for an instant glow or pop it onto your lids for a pop of colour. The options are endless. The best thing about highlighters is that it is really a multi use tool. I mean just look at the Fenty Highlighters. I actually use them less as a highlighter and more as eyeshadows.

Overall this is a huge hit for me as the possibilities are endless. I will definitely be trying the lip strobes next.
